If you are new to using the World Wide Web, you might be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information available through your Web browser. You probably already know what a browser is, and how to type in an URL, but do you know how to efficiently find exactly the information you want? Or what the W3 Consortium is?
With the availability of WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors such as MS FrontPage, there is little reason to write raw HTML code on a day to day basis. However, it can often be helpful to understand the mechanics of HTML.
