Private Pesticide Applicator Training

Tim Schnakenberg, regional agronomy specialist will hold the Taney County private pesticide applicator training on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Taneyville Municipal Building, 227 Central Ave.  This training provides certification ot obtain a Missouri Private Pesticide Applicators license for agricultural producers and will also count for recertification requirements by the state.  The training will last 2 1/2 to 3 hours.  The cost of the training is $25.00 for all who attend.  For more information please contact the Forsyth Extension center at 417-546-4431.  Attached flyer has further information and other sites available for training.

VITA Taxes

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) is a free service provided in Stone, Christian and Taney Counties. We will begin taking appointments on January 16, 2018. Guidelines: Taxpayers with an AGI of $57,000 or less can get Free Tax Preparation. Families meeting additional requirements are eligible for a credit of up to $6,318. (Volunteers are not trained to do business taxes, the long forms or capital gains and losses. If you have any of these you should see a paid preparer.) 

 Items you MUST have with you: 

(1). Social Security cards for you, your spouse, and each of your dependent children; Form W-2 for every job you or your spouse worked in 2017; (2). A personal check (for your checking account and routing number) if you want your refund direct deposited; (3). If you have Marketplace granted health coverage exemption, bring your exemption certificate number; if you have insurance through the marketplace, bring form 1095A; (4). Your 2016 tax return (optional)

In 2017, did you....   

(1). Receive unemployment compensation? Bring your Form 1099G; (2). Pay for child care? Bring the total paid for child care expenses and the name, address, and Tax ID/Social Security Number of the child care provider. (3). Pay student loan interest? Bring the total of the student loan interest you paid. (4). Pay for tuition? Bring Form 1098 for you, your spouse, and/or dependent children.

Master Gardeners of the Ozarks Spring Gardening Workshop

The Master Gardeners of the Ozarks will hold their annual "Spring Gardening Workshop" on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Branson.  Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., workshop sessions will run from 9;00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  There is a $25 registration fee which includes all session, a continental breakfast and lunch. Vendors will offer plants and horticulture related merchandise at this event.  Advanced registration is required.  You can register on line at http://mgozarks.com/ or by sending in your registration form from the attached flyer to University of Missouri Extension, P.O. Taney County Food System Meeting

Master Gardeners of the Ozarks State Conference

Master Gardeners of the Ozarks will host the 2018 Missouri Master Gardener State Conference on September 28, 29, & 30, 2018.  This conference will be held at the Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa & Conference Center, Branson Missouri. More information will be posted when available.
