Supporting extension

Pulaski County Extension needs your financial support

For nearly 100 years, Pulaski County Extension has been providing programs and services that support youth development (including 4-H programming), our citizens’ nutrition and health, county business development, county community development, home and commercial gardening, and the human environmental sciences. These vital programs serve our communities, improve citizens’ lives, and make Pulaski County a better place for all of us to live and work.

Today, the extension programs serving our citizens are at risk being drastically diminished, or worse, disappearing altogether. Due to the ongoing economic downturn and rising costs, Pulaski County finds itself challenged to fund the MU Extension county office operations at prior levels. This year, the county is providing only $10,000 in funding to support the Pulaski County Extension Center. This amount is down from the $26,000 in county funding provided in 2012. Unfortunately, no important county resource could withstand a 61.5 percent budget cut and proceed with business as usual.

The financial scene has changed dramatically in the past few years. So, the Pulaski County Extension Council are exploring different funding models to ensure that MU Extension can continue to deliver programs, services, and resources to the people of Pulaski County. In the meantime, we ask for your support. To maintain and improve county extension services, we ask local citizens, businesses, and organizations to help us to fill the funding gap.

Please consider making a donation to Pulaski County Extension. Your donation is vital to the continuation of quality extension programming in the county and is 100% tax deductible.

Giving options:

  • Mail your donation check, payable to Pulaski County Extension, to Pulaski County Extension Center, 403 School St. Suite 1, Waynesville, Missouri 65583.
  • Use a credit card to contribute to Pulaski County Extension online through the University of Missouri at https://donatetomu.missouri.edu.  Check the “Other” button under “Don’t see the fund you want listed.”  In the “Gift designation” box that appears, type “Pulaski County Extension Gift Fund.” Then click the continue button and follow the instructions to complete your donation.  This option will give donors credit toward giving to the University of Missouri and toward membership in the University of Missouri Jefferson Club.

Your help, at any level of giving, is greatly appreciated and will be gladly acknowledged.
