Master Gardener Course Offered in Lake Ozark Afternoon and Evening Sessions offered

Do you want to know more about gardening?  Would you like to share that knowledge with others?  Consider enrolling in the spring 2019 University of Missouri Extension Master Gardener Course held in the Lake of the Ozarks Area.  You will receive 30 hours of instruction in soils, composting, insects, disease prevention, plant growth, flowers, woody ornamentals, turf, vegetables, fruits, native plants, herbs, and landscaping.  Classes are taught by University of Missouri state and regional specialists and Master Gardeners themselves. More information about the Missouri Master Gardener Program can be found on the web at

Master Gardeners volunteer 30 hours of community gardening or horticultural expertise to assist the University in carrying out the mission of "Helping Others Learn to Grow.”  In return, the course has a minimal fee.  This is a wonderful opportunity for persons interested in horticulture and gardening to learn new skills, share ideas, work together on projects, and help their neighbors.

Orientation for the course will be held on Monday, February 25th, 2019.  During this class, materials are handed out and the program will be explained.

The gardening topics are during sessions held from February 25th  through May 20th, 2019. The sessions are scheduled on Monday afternoons or on Monday evenings.  Afternoon sessions begin at 1:00 pm and will last approximately three hours each.  Evening sessions begin at 6:00 pm, also three hours per session. Classes are held at the Lake Ozark Fire Department Meeting room at 1767 Bagnell Dam Blvd, Lake Ozark, MO 65049.

Space is limited, so do not delay.  Please register by February 19th so materials can be prepared.  Registration materials can be accessed and downloaded at
