EXperience in Community Enterprise and Leadership

In the EXCEL program, leadership learning experiences are tailored to individual community needs and resources. The program's adaptable, flexible curriculum is designed by local residents with assistance from MU Extension specialists.

Community Development Academy

The series of three courses combines leading-edge thinking with practical application to enhance the capacity of people to work effectively with a broad range of community issues. Each five-day course is an intensive, experiential experience that explores ideas and develops practical skills.

Step Up to Leadership curriculum

This course builds the capacity of community-minded people who want to make a difference, are interested in group processes and the complexities of collaboration, and are ready to take on the challenge of leadership.

Creating Whole Communities (CWC)

Looks to link the resources of the university's local efforts throughout the region to create whole communities.

Neighborhood Leadership Academy (NLA)

Provides hands-on leadership training that emphasizes community building principles and strategies, project planning, organizational leadership and management practices, and personal leadership skills.
