Private Pesticide Applicator Certification and Re-Certification

This will be an opportunity for you to re-certify or become certified for a Private Applicator License.  The cost of the program is $20.

Keller building open house            February 1, 2018, 4-7 pm

 What’s in the Keller Building?

Join us on February 1, 2018 from 4-7 pm for an open house to meet the businesses and learn about the services provided in the Keller Building.  FREE chili supper will be provided with the donation of a canned good or boxed food item to benefit the Fayette Food Pantry.  Meal will be $5.00/person without donation.  Visit all of the businesses and be entered into a drawing for cash prizes. 

Photo Contest– Historical and Current Photos of Agriculture in Howard County         

Enter the photo contest for a chance to win one of four prizes!

Kid’s Activity Zone

Bring the kiddo’s (of all ages) for a fun evening of activities and games including:

Faces and Commodities of Agriculture

Learn about the people involved in and commodities produced from agriculture. Agriculture encompasses all of the industries and processes involved in the production and delivery of food, fiber, and fuel that humans need to survive and thrive.  

Swine Jeopardy

Learn interesting facts about pigs through an interactive Jeopardy game.  Pigs provide so much more than just bacon.

Visit all of the stations and be entered into a drawing for DQ gift certificates

Youth Mental Health First Aid

 
An 8-hour certificate course will be held March 3, 2018, at the Boone County Extension office, 1012 N. Highway UU, Columbia (just the other side of I-70 at the Fayette exit).  Fee is $25, includes lunch.  Time is 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.  
 
The program is open to all who are interested, but is especially appropriate for anyone who works with young people, including 4-H volunteers, teachers, coaches, youth group leaders, social workers, mentors, and others.

Missouri Show-Me-Select Replacement Heifer Program

The Show Me Select Replacement Heifer Program is focused entirely on Missouri's farmers and is dependent upon active participation from regional extension livestock specialists and local veterinarians, each of which are critical components of the agricultural sector of this state. This program is unique in that it is first and foremost, an educational program targeted at improving production efficiency through increased use of existing technology, coupled with the marketing component.
