"J. Milton Turner: An American Hero" tells story of former slave who helped start Missouri schools for African-Americans. Proceeds benefit the Cooper County Extension office in Missouri. The book is available here on Amazon.
Missouri Directory of Historic and One-Room Schools
A publication entitled, "Missouri Directory of Historic and One-Room Schools" will be published during the summer of 2014. The first edition (written by David Burton of MU Extension and Jennifer Kervian of Joplin) will include details on about 50 schools in Missouri. Owners or groups who want to add their school to the directory can do so using this form. If you wish to receive notifications about this publication please email send your name and address. Effective Oct. 1, 2014, the first edition of the directory is available for purchase online and download as a PDF.
Presentation at Missouri Preservation Conference 2014
This is a copy of the presentation given at the Missouri Preservation Conference 2014 entitled, "Saving Historic Schools in Missouri."
