    Chronic Pain Self-Management Program - The Palmer Center (Session 3 of 6)

    Barton County Memorial Hospital’s Board Room

    Description:

    The Chronic Pain Self-Management Program (CDSMP) is a community-based program which assists participants in maintaining quality of life when faced with chronic Pain. The CPSMP is provided in 2.5 hour sessions once a week for six weeks in community settings (e.g., senior centers, churches, libraries). People with different chronic health problems attend together. Workshops are facilitated by two trained leaders, one or both of whom deal with chronic pain themselves. Classes are highly participative, where mutual support and success build the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives. The program was developed by Stanford University and is funded by the Arthritis Foundation.

    Feedback/problem solving session, Better breathing, muscle relaxation, pain and fatigue management, endurance activities and making and action plan
