Missouri Training Institute (MTI)- Leadership Development Workshops (NEC) (Session 2 of 3)

    When:

    Thursday, March 7, 2019, noon to 1:30 p.m.

    Description:

Being a leader means having the desire to make a difference and having the will to get the job done. Do you want to make a meaningful contribution and be involved in exciting work that inspires and empowers others to lead? The Missouri Training Institute Leadership Series, under the direction of University of Missouri Extension, offers top-notch training for managers and leaders in all industries including government, for-profit and non-profit organizations.

    Session topic:

Nonverbal Communication When we interact with others, we continuously give and receive wordless signals. All of our nonverbal behaviors—the gestures we make, the way we sit, how fast or how loud we talk, how close we stand, how much eye contact we make—send strong messages. These messages don't stop when you stop speaking either. Even when you're silent, you're still communicating nonverbally. What You Will Learn: • Why nonverbal communication matters. • Identify nonverbal communication cues and the roles they play. • Types of nonverbal communication and body language • How to interpret nonverbal signals and how to manage your signals.
