Straw Bale Gardens The University of Missouri Extension and Heartland Library System will offer free programs about Straw Bale Gardening in April. This style of gardening is growing in popularity due to the ease and bountiful harvests. Patricia Barrett will be explaining how to prepare and plant the bales and options for staking and protecting plants from frost in a straw bale system.
