The Meramec Hills Chapter of the Missouri Master Naturalists will host “Evening with Nature” on Tuesday, March 13 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm at Rolla Middle School. The event is free and open to the public. Nature-related organizations will have over 25 exhibits with interactive activities for children, parents and anyone curious about Missouri’s outdoors. The highlight of the evening will be two presentations at 6 and 7 pm, featuring live animal ambassadors from the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium. Wonders of Wildlife, voted USA Today’s ‘Best New Attraction for 2017’, is a not-for-profit conservation education center celebrating people who hunt, fish, and act as stewards of the land and water. Participants will have a chance to win a bluebird house, get a free native tree, and explore many aspects of nature and the outdoors from Missouri native fishes and native wildlife to the numerous trees that cover Missouri’s hills. Visitors will be able to test their skill at identifying mammal furs and tracks, learn how to move like an animal, learn to be bear aware, and even learn how to fold an origami butterfly.
