People of all levels of wealth need an estate plan.
This program helps Missourians understand the need for an estate plan and presents the fundamentals of creating one. Topics addressed are titled property (ownership, methods of transfer, probate, wills, trusts, Power of Attorney, Advanced Directives) and non-titled property. Non-titled items often have sentimental value or are important to family history. A video titled "Who Gets Grandma's Yellow Pie Plate?" is shown. It is a guide for passing on personal possessions and offers practical information about inheritance like what is considered "fair" and how to manage conflict in sometimes emotional situations. Time is provided for discussion and for participants to start their plan by writing thoughts, wishes and information as program moves through materials. Forms and handouts provided..
Pre-registration is required. To register, please call the University of Missouri Extension Center at 660-886-6908
Thanks to the United Way of Saline County, the course fee is reduced from $40.
