Stay Strong, Stay Healthy - Level 1 (Miller County) (Session 15 of 17)

Description:

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy - Level 1 is a strength training program based on research by Tufts University to help men and women increase strength, flexibility and balance. Missouri’s Stay Strong, Stay Healthy - Level 1 program is designed to provide access to a safe, structured, and effective strength training program for middle age and older adults. During each session, a set of 8 upper and lower body strengthening exercises are done, along with warm-up and cool-down stretches. Participants are made to feel comfortable regardless of their current fitness level so they can safely participate and gradually build the strength beneficial to health.

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy Level 1; MEAAA South County Senior Resource Center (Session 1 of 16)

Description:

Has your doctor advised you to be more active? Don't like going to the gym? Our low impact exercise class helps those that would like to be more active. This strength-training program can get your fitness journey (re)started. University of Missouri Extension's Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH) program is designed to increase aging adults access to a safe, structured and effective strength-training program. Participants participate in twice weekly exercise sessions for 8 weeks building muscle and strength through the completion of 8 basic exercises. The program Equipment is provided.
