Food Preservation: Salsa

Description:

Food preservation classes will help consumers learn how to combat this threat of food-borne illness and preserve their harvest safely. The classes will provide step by step instructions on how to preserve using the most current researched recipes and procedures. They will also provide opportunities for hands-on learning. A current set of guides will be provided to each participant so they can follow along on their own at home after the class. Come learn with Lindsey Stevens, Nutrition and Health Specialist with University of Missouri Extension, why canning safely is more than just sealing food in a jar. Find out why some foods have to be pressure canned and others can be preserved in a boiling water canner. The goal of this program is to provide participants with a solid foundation in home canning and preserving. Food Preservation: Jefferson County Summer 2017 (Session 1 of 3)

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy- Level 2 at UMSL (Session 3 of 16)

This MU Extension strength-training program can get your fitness journey (re)started. Participants will be guided safely by a trained instructor through warm up, muscle-strengthening exercises and cool down. Equipment is provided. The class is targeted toward older and middle-aged adults. There are no age limits. Participants should feel comfortable moving up and down from the floor.

Focus on Kids - Lincoln County

Helps divorced and separated parents learn how to support their children through the divorce process and how to work together in co-parenting their children.  Focus on Kids satisfies the Missouri law that requires parents who are divorcing or filing a motion to modify the original divorce decree, or who have never been married but have filed a child custody case, to attend an educational parenting program.
