Our seminar will explain the fundamentals everyone needs to know before “putting pen to paper.” Attending this seminar will reduce your frustration and save you time and ultimately money. This program is for current and future business owners and focuses on understanding the key components of a business plan. It will also provide guidelines for style, appearance to help create a professional look for your business plan, and other tools and assistance in business planning. Accounting Basics For Small Businesses

With a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, business owners and bookkeepers can effectively communicate and interpret the financial results of their business. This program will provide participants with a solid foundation for developing their small business accounting methods, while serving as a platform for understanding and applying concepts presented in other SBTDC seminars related to business finances, such as QuickBooks® and Understanding Financial Statements. This class is focused on the small business owner or prospective owner who wants to understand accounting basics in order to determine how to set up bookkeeping practices for a business. Learn basic terminology and explore typical transactions encountered in a small business environment.

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy-Pulaski County (Session 12 of 16)

A strength training program for middle-aged and older adults. The programs goal is to improve health and quality of life. Exercise sessions to improve strength and balance include warm-up exercises, strengthening exercises and cool-down stretches.
8 week class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Waynesville Senior Center in Waynesville, MO Register with the MU Extension Center in Pulaski County at 573-774-6177. Preregister is required and a physician's release for those age 69 and over.
Master Gardener Training Level 1 - Phelps County (Session 9 of 13)
When: Thursday, April 27, 2017, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Master Gardener program serves as a valuable and reliable source of horticultural and environmental information and expert volunteer service in Missouri. Learn from University professors, industry professionals and other experts on a variety of horticulture topics. A love of gardening and a desire to learn are the only qualifications for entering the Master Gardener program. Master Gardeners complete 30 hours of volunteer service following their initial training. Subsequent years require 20 hours of volunteer service. Enrollment is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis
Cooking Matters for Teens (Session 5 of 6)

Cooking Matters is a program provided by Share Our Strength, a nationwide initiative to end hunger in America. In this program, participants will learn how to buy and prepare budget friendly and healthy meals. Topics include kitchen and food safety, label reading, comparing unit prices, and eating from all 5 food groups. Each week participants get to take home the ingredients from one of the recipes made in class.
A lot of basic cooking skills are covered in this program. It's a great opportunity for anyone trying to lead a healthier lifestyle.
