Description:

This is an advanced QuickBooks (Desktop) workshop, computer, hands-on learning opportunity for small business owners, office managers, and anyone with financial responsibilities. In this session we’ll deal with some more challenging topics such as: customizing invoices, customizing basic QuickBooks reports, designing reports and exporting to Microsoft Excel, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, using the “find” feature to find and correct documents quickly, memorizing transactions, payroll, inventory, and more.

Financial MNGT Series: Part II - Analyzing & Managing Your Cash Flow

In this second class of the financial management series, we'll take a close look at where cash comes from in a small business, where it's used in day-to-day operations and how to identify and correct cash flow problems. You'll be able to identify key information on cash flow statements and be able to follow the path of cash as it travels through your company. You'll identify cash flow strategies to use in your organization. You'll become familiar with the sources and use of cash, ratios and the most common "gobblers" of cash in any business. This isn't theory - its practical application for real businesses - like yours!

Cooking Matters for Adults (Session 2 of 6)

Description:

Cooking Matters is a 6-session culinary-based nutrition education program that is delivered through; powerful, engaging lessons featuring hands-on learning that include group discussion with instructors. Program Goal: This program’s main goals are: 1. to provide knowledge and skills to help seniors prepare food at home more, and become aware of the negative health behaviors associated with obesity and sedentary lifestyles. The primary objectives are to teach: (1) Cooking tips and techniques; (ii) tips for proper food safety; (iii) storage and sanitation; (iv) nutrition and health information to ensure optimal health; (v) budgeting -stretching food dollars and maximizing resources; (vi) tips to get families to try new foods; and (vii) shopping healthfully on a limited budget. The program evaluates participants at week 1 and week 6 and behavior changes occur consistently in all individuals.

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy at RCF in El Dorado (Session 13 of 16)

Description:

Missouri’s SSSH program is designed to increase aging adults’ access to a safe, structured and effective strength training program. Over 8 weeks, participants learn exercises to improve their strength, flexibility and balance. During each session, a prescribed set of 8 upper and lower body strengthening exercises are done along with warm-up and cool-down stretches. Participants are made to feel comfortable regardless of their current fitness level so they can safely participate and gradually build the strength beneficial to health.

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy-Pulaski County (Session 2 of 16)

Diabetes Education including Diabetes Self-Management in El Dorado Springs (Session 6 of 6)

Description:

It is recommended that adults perform strength training activities 2-3 times per week. Stay Strong, Stay Healthy provides older adults an opportunity to do muscle strengthening exercises in a safe environment where they can progress at their own rate. Strength training has several health benefits including improved strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility. Strength training also helps improve self-esteem and quality of sleep. The biggest benefit this program has to offer older adults is the ability to remain independent and continue performing activities of daily living without assistance.
