Stay Strong Stay Healthy is a strength training program for middle ages and older adults who want to improve their flexibility, strength and balance, which enables individuals to improve their quality of life and remain active.  No one is too inactive to participate. Each session includes warm-up exercised, simple strengthening exercises, with or without weights, and cool down exercises.

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy-St. Louis County Govenment (Session 12 of 16)

Has your doctor advised you to be more active? Don't like going to the gym? Our low impact exercise program helps those that would like to be more active. This strength-training program can get your fitness journey (re)started. Marketing Your Timber

Description:

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH) program is designed to increase independent living older adults access to a safe, structured, and effective strength-training program. Over eight weeks, participants learn exercises to improve strength, flexibility and balance. At each class, a prescribed set of eight upper and lower body strengthening exercises are done along with warm-up and cool-down stretches. Participants are made to feel comfortable regardless of their current fitness level so they can safely participate and gradually build the strength beneficial to health.

Session topic:

Participants will complete a warm-up, 8 strength training exercises, and a cool-down that includes stretching.

Description:

Missouri Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH) program is designed to increase independent living older adults access to a safe, structured, and effective strength training program.Stay Strong, Stay Healthy- Level 2 is a follow-up to Level 1. It is for those who want to challenge themselves a bit more! During the eight weeks, participants learn exercises to improve strength, flexibility and balance. In order to enroll in the Stay Strong, Stay Healthy Level 2 program, you must have completed the Stay Strong, Stay Healthy-Level 1 program at least twice. Participants are made to feel comfortable and are encouraged to gradually build the strength beneficial to health. All equipment is provided.

Participants will complete a warm-up, 8-10 strength training exercises, and a cool-down that includes stretching.
