    Tai Chi for Arthritis & Fall Prevention (Session 2 of 16)

    Description:

    Tai chi is one of the most effective, easy to learn, exercises for health of mind and body. The Tai Chi for Arthritis and Falls Prevention program is designed to improve multiple aspects of health through slow, gentle movements that can be practiced almost anywhere. The degree of exertion can be easily adjusted making this program suitable for adults of all levels and abilities. Published medical studies have shown benefits such as pain relief, improved balance and reduced falls. You will learn warm-up exercises, 6 Basic and 6 Advanced moves, and a cool down during 16 one hour classes. Harmony of inner and outer self comes from integrating mind and body, which can be achieved through the ongoing practice of tai chi.

    Focus on Kids is a workshop to help parents learn how to nurture and support their children through the divorce process and to help parents who are living apart develop ways to work together effectively as co-parents. Focus on Kids satisfies Missouri's educational requirement for parents who are divorcing or filing a motion to modify. It is conducted in cooperation with Missouri‚Äôs circuit courts.

    Quality for Keeps Home Food Preservation (Session 2 of 2)

    This 2-session series will provide participants with research-tested information about food preservation including hands-on experiences in pressure canning sweet spreads and salsas.

    Session topic:

    Learn to make and preserve salsas using a water bath canner and steam canner.

    Master Gardener Core Class Series-Jefferson City, MO (Session 3 of 12)

    Twelve classes will be held at this office on Monday & Thursday evenings from September 19th until October 28th. Class time is 6 to 9:00 pm. Trained Master Gardeners, Extension Specialists and instructors from the University of Missouri will teach the classes. Topics may include, but are not limited to: plant growth; soils; vegetables; fruit; insects; woody ornamentals, turf and landscaping.
