    With a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, business owners and bookkeepers can effectively communicate and interpret the financial results of their business. This program will provide participants with a foundation for developing their small business accounting methods, while serving as a platform for understanding and applying concepts presented in other SBTDC seminars related to business finances, such as QuickBooks®and Making Dollars & Sense Out of Your Financial Statements. This class is focused on the small business owner or their employee who wants to understand accounting basics to improve efficiency and accuracy of their business financial statements.     Session topic:

    Whether you are starting a business, trying to obtain financing from lenders or investors, or expanding your company, you should consider writing a business plan. Live Plan is an online business planning software that works on any type of computer with an Internet connection. You can construct a business plan and financial statements, which can be accessed by multiple users. This workshop will introduce you to the Live Plan software and provide tips on writing a successful business plan. Each participant, who is a client of the MSSU SBDC, can receive 90-day access to LivePlan.
