FSMA Training for Produce Growers - Buffalo

When:  Wednesday, March 14, 2018, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Description:

"FSMA Food Safety Training," a workshop designed for commercial fruit and vegetable producers, will be held from 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on March 14 at the Dallas County R-1 School Administration Building at 1323 S. Ash St. Buffalo, MO. A registration fee of $50 will be charged to cover the cost of materials, lunch, and expenses for the guest speakers. Contact the Hickory County Extension Center at 417-745-6767 for more information and to register. Produce growers are encouraged to attend this workshop, which will satisfy the mandated training requirement for FSMA compliance. The FSMA mandated training includes modules on worker health and hygiene, soil amendments, wildlife and domesticated animals, production water, postharvest water, and postharvest handling and sanitation. Additional topics on the meeting agenda include developing a farm food safety plan, including a traceback system.

Women in Dairy: Reducing Inflammtion with a Healthy Lifestyle

Description:

Diary farmers are concerned with the cow's diet, now it's time to focus on their diet. What we eat and how we live have a great impact on our short and long-term health. Knowing what foods and lifestyles to avoid or increase can help decrease our risk of chronic inflammation.
