Diabetes Self-Management Program - Clarity Healthcare February 2018 (Session 3 of 6)

When:  Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Description:

This course is designed to help people who have diabetes or individuals who care for someone who has diabetes to become better self-managers of their condition. This program will consist of six sessions each lasting 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Participants will learn to plan healthful meals with balanced carbohydrates, learn more about the benefits of physical activity, discuss blood sugar highs and lows, and how to communicate more effectively with health professionals. Participants will receive a free book. The program will be held at Clarity Healthcare, 141 Communications Drive, Hannibal, MO 63401.

Session topic:

Participants will learn how to prevent or delay complications from diabetes, plan a low fat meal, deal with stress and how to increase physical activity. Action plans will be made for the next week.
