Youth Mental Health First Aid

Description:

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches how to respond when a young person is becoming unwell or having a mental health crisis. The course covers signs and symptoms of mental health problems in youth ages 12-18 and what resources in the community can help. It DOES NOT teach how to diagnose mental illnesses. The class is particularly appropriate for anyone who works with youth ages 12-18, including teachers, youth workers, foster parents, coaches, and others who have an interest in mental health issues. Stay Strong Stay Healthy, Level 2 is an eight-week, evidence-based strength training program for people who have completed Stay Strong, Stay Healthy, Level 1. This class helps adults stay active and improve their quality of life. The exercises are easy to learn, safe and effective.

Session topic:

Participants will complete warm-up sessions, a series of 8-10 strengthening exercises and then cool-down stretches.

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy Level 1 CJ (Session 17 of 18)

Description:

This is a low-impact strength training program for people who are 50 or better. The class meets for 1 hour, twice a week for 8 weeks to complete a series of eight exercises with a warm-up and cool down. This program helps participants increase their physical activity which may improve strength, balance and flexibility, resulting in reduced risk for falls, better overall health and greater independence.
