    Winning Government Contracts: The First Steps

    Description:

    This introductory 3-hour seminar is an overview of the critical first steps associated with winning government contracts.  The Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Center (MO PTAC) host a bi-monthly seminar on how to get started in the government contracting arena including federal, state and local government registrations and certifications.  The seminar will also cover MO PTAC services available to assist Missouri businesses in all aspects of government contracting.

    Description:

    Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH) program is designed to increase independent living older adults; access to a safe, structured, and effective strength-training program. Over eight weeks, participants learn exercises to improve strength, flexibility and balance. At each class, a prescribed set of eight upper and lower body strengthening exercises are done along with warm-up and cool-down stretches. Participants are made to feel comfortable regardless of their current fitness level so they can safely participate and gradually build the strength beneficial to health.

    Stay Strong Stay Healthy, Level 2 is an eight-week, evidence-based strength training program for people who have completed Stay Strong, Stay Healthy, Level 1. This class helps adults stay active and improve their quality of life. The exercises are easy to learn, safe and effective.

    Stay Strong, Stay Healthy-St. Louis County Govenment (Session 9 of 16)

    Has your doctor advised you to be more active? Don't like going to the gym? Our low impact exercise program helps those that would like to be more active. This strength-training program can get your fitness journey (re)started.     The Affordable Care Act (ACA), often referred to as Obamacare, is the most sweeping health-policy change since Medicare was established in 1965. Congress passed the law in 2010, and the Supreme Court declared it to be constitutional in 2012.

    If you buy a plan in the Health Insurance Marketplace, you may get help from the government to pay for your premiums. The amount of help you get, called a premium tax credit, is based on how much money you earn in a year.

    We are here to provide you the facts you need to know to understand your rights, requirements and opportunities under the law.

    Free workshops to help you keep control of family finances while you are laid off are available at Missouri Career Centers, statewide. Managing and budgeting your bills and your money until a new job opportunity appears is less stressful when you have a plan. The workshops will be taught by University of Missouri Extension Family Financial Education instructors. Topics include: How to track your spending and how to develop a budget • How to cut expenses; HOPE NOW mortgage services that can help you keep ownership of your home; How to prioritize debts and how to maintain good relations with creditors; Understanding health insurance coverage options; How to avoid debt and credit scams that target unemployed victims; How to identify resources in your community that can help you save money Learning more about these topics will help relieve financial strain on you and your family while you are unemployed or underemployed.
