Diversified Agriculture Conference - Webster County

When:  Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Description:

This 94th annual conference will provide up-to-date information on what, why and how artificial insemination methods make you more money in livestock production; how to select farm enterprises that make money on small acreages; practices in animal nutrition that are proven ways increase farm income; about new restrictions on dicamba use and ways to reduce herbicide drift that damages crops, and in a humorous way, the wide variety of things that can kill livestock and how to prevent their harm. Get up-to-date information to make your farm more profitable. Visit a variety of sponsor displays and network with producers over lunch.

Registration:

With help from generous sponsors, the registration fee for this conference is just $15 per adult ($10 for students, and under age 12 free), which includes lunch and breaks. So we will know how much food to prepare, participants should pre-register by Tuesday, Jan. 23, by contacting the Webster County Extension Center in Marshfield.

Participants are also invited to bring non-perishable food items and/or a cash contribution to be donated to the Webster County Food Pantry.




West Central Regional Energizer

When:  Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Description:

Will be held at Clinton Middle School. Registration from 9-9:30 am. Will start at 9:30 am with opening ceremony. There will be three 55-minute workshops on topics such as livestock, scrapbooking, robotics, photography, natural resources, foods, SMQA, entrepreneurship, clover kid room, public speaking, volunteer orientation, gardening, and several others. Workshops will be available for all ages from clover kids to experienced volunteers. During the Energizer, those wanting to run for State 4-H Council Regional Representative or have been selected for Senior MRFs will be doing their interviews and those selected to go on will be announced at the end of the Energizer. Lunch will be provided.
