Full-time Office Secretary

Butler County University of Missouri Extension Council is hiring a full-time (35 hours per week) office secretary to work in their Poplar Bluff, Missouri office.

Applicant must have experience working with the public, be service oriented, and have the ability to maintain good relationships with public and co-workers. Skill sets include detail oriented, excellent communication and organization skills, proficient in Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook, and QuickBooks. Experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, payroll taxes and reports required. This position also maintains the office custodial duties and helps physically set up programs and workshops so the ability to lift 50 pounds is required.  Applicant must have own transportation. Ag Expo

Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training

The University of Missouri Extension is offering a produce safety workshop to fruit and vegetable growers and others interested in learning about produce safety, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule and Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs). 

This workshop is approved for produce growers needing compliance for the FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirement outlined in §112.22(c) that states "At least one supervisor or responsible party for your farm must have successfully completed food safety training at least equivalent to that received under standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by the Food and Drug Administration."

The workshop will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 8:00 am until 5:30 pm at the University of Missouri Extension Center in Jackson, MO.  The office is located at 684 W Jackson Trail in Jackson, Missouri.

Pesticide Applicator Training 

A grower can obtain a Private Applicator License by scheduling training through the University of Missouri Extension Center by call 573-686-8064 to arrange a time.  Training runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm or from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm by appointment.
