Dr. Behrens is part of Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (MO PTAC) which provide assistance obtaining government contracts and subcontracts to existing Missouri businesses — including veteran owned, women owned, and disadvantaged owned firms. Dr. Behrens is a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Small & Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE) Certified Verification Assistance Counselor. Verification Assistance Counselors provide application assistance to Service-disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses/Veteran-owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs/VOSBs) interested in applying for the Vets First Verification Program. Aid is available during every step of the application process to prevent and reduce verification denials. VA-certified Verification Assistance Counselors work with applicants to

Dr. Behrens taught in department of Criminal Justice, Health Administration, and Public Administration in a College of Health Sciences and Human Services within a four-year public university, in department of Public Administration-Political Science in a College of Arts & Sciences within a four-year public university, and in program of graduate Public Administration in the Academic Extension Division of a private, not-for-profit liberal arts university.

Dr. Behrens served as research and teaching assistant in School of Urban and Public Affairs in a College of Liberal Arts within a four-year public university. 

Dr. Behrens developed onLine course and curriculum, wrote lesson and course content, taught onLine, and lectured conventionally; her teaching career bridged entirely conventional classroom and entirely digital venue thus allowing opportunity to be pioneer participant in onLine venues for higher education.

Dr. Behrens promoted to Executive Director from Administrative Coordinator for a regional non-profit, through the years volunteered with a variety of other community non-profits.

Dr. Behrens served as FDIC Bank Liquidation Assistant after working with non-residential real estate mortgage bankers and lenders in Texas, Illinois, and Missouri.

Dr. Behrens held various other positions, including stints as a customer service professional in a call center, an election official with county elections, a communications specialist with deaf relay, a student assistant off- and on-campus, and an equipment lease professional for a regional financial and travel services firm as well as other stints in corporate offices of an equipment and appliance rental chain, ATM administration of a local bank, and eLearning services of a content development and communications services firm.
